Split expenses without an account
FairShare tracks who paid for what across a group, works out who owes whom, and reduces the result to the fewest payments needed to settle up. Everything is stored in your browser: there is no sign-up, and nothing is sent to a server.
Groups
Set up a group for roommates, a trip, or a shared household. Add expenses as they happen, split them evenly, by exact amounts, by percentage or by share, and see running balances per person. Recurring expenses like rent are added automatically.
Quick Split
For a one-off restaurant bill, Quick Split skips the setup: enter the total, add tax and tip, split evenly or by item, and share a link with everyone at the table. Nothing is saved.
Settling up
Debt simplification collapses circular debts, so three people owing each other in a loop become one payment instead of three. Settle with a Venmo link or record a cash payment.
Your data
Groups live in IndexedDB on this device. Export the whole database to JSON at any time and import it on another browser. That is also the only backup, so take one before clearing site data.

FairShare covers the parts most people actually use: groups, itemised expenses, four split methods, running balances, debt simplification and recurring expenses, with no account and no limit on how many expenses you add per day. Settling up generates a payment link for Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, Swish, Vipps, MobilePay or Monzo.
The honest trade-off is sync. Because your data lives in this browser and never touches a server, there is no shared group that updates on everyone’s phone at once, and no native app. One person keeps the group and shares the outcome, or you move the database yourself with JSON export and import. If live multi-device sync is what you need, FairShare is the wrong tool and a hosted service is the right one.
